After two years of preparations, the mural painting has begun! There was a ceremonial "first brush stroke" celebration this past Saturday, April 19th. The honorable Mayor Shiela Dixon was there to witness the event. HERE is a link to a Sun paper article which mentions it.

There is a new interactive blog where you can read the latest about the project, as well as leave your own comments. Here is the link: www.waverlymurals.blogspot.com

The final designs will are now posted publicly for all to see at the Giant Supermarket, the Waverly Library, the YMCA and the 32nd Street Farmer's Market. Painting has begun! Cruise on by and check it out! It's looking great!

The HGTV make-over of the
Baltimore Mediation Center is underway!

On January 1st, 2008 HGTV announced the winners of it's "Change the World, Start at Home" Initiative. There are 3 locations in our area that are being made-over as a result of Baltimore being chosen! One here in Wavery: our very own Center for Mediation, and two in neighboring Pen Lucy: the home of Ethel Gaither and the green space up Old York Rd. on the right, just before 36th Street. This is VERY EXCITING! You can follow the progress, and get the latest news here: REBUILDING TOGETHER BALTIMORE. Follow the links to the official HGTV site where there is a short film. (Be forwarned that they mistakenly say that the Mediation Center is in Pen Lucy, and also that Dr. Bob Hieronimus' first name is Ed. Oh well... )
