Waverly's Giant Mural Project is completed!

Opening Ceremonies

After two years of preparations, the mural painting is now complete! There was a ceremonial "first brush stroke" celebration Saturday, April 19th. The honorable Mayor Shiela Dixon was there to witness the event. HERE is a link to a Sun paper article which mentions it.

There is a new interactive blog where you can read the latest about the project, as well as leave your own comments. Here is the link: www.waverlymurals.blogspot.com

The painting is completed! Cruise on by and check it out! It looks great!
(Please email me if you have pictures of the completed murals.)

The HGTV make-over of the
Baltimore Mediation Center is complete!

On January 1st, 2008 HGTV announced the winners of it's "Change the World, Start at Home" Mediation Cernter gets makeover! Initiative. There are 3 locations in our area that were made-over as a result of Baltimore being chosen! One is right here in Wavery: our very own
Community Mediation Program
, and two are in neighboring Pen Lucy: the home of Ethel Gaither and the green space up Old York Rd. on the right, just before 36th Street. What an amazing gift this was to our community!
You can read mor about the project here: REBUILDING TOGETHER BALTIMORE. They have a nice slideshow, as well as links to press releases and to the other related sites.

Bob Hieronimus oversaw the painting rennovations to the mural and did some painting himself. He added a few new elements. Can you spot them?

The Mediation Center is continuing it's own project of developing a Peace Garden in the back of the property. When completed, it will be a peaceful retreat from the city where anyone can go to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
